Disadvantages triming trees as mulch?
I have many loads of tree branches cut cutting local trees Work REMCO. I use it as mulch everywhere. Beautiful brunette black powder in three years. But I read that much "draw" of nitrogen land. I think it may be entitled to tomato plants in the mulch this year has been bad. What is the easiest and least expensive replace the nitrogen? For the most part, want nothing more in the mulch, but when I put around trees, etc., will probably be restored nitrogen. Thanks Jim West www.IndianaMilitary.org
Apparently you can not get a straight answer, so I will give my professional opinion and try to help. It is fair to say that the litter "Draw" nitrogen from the surrounding soil. However, this only applies to the crash that cost has not yet had time to decompose. Fresh as a mulch as it does, requires a soil microbial action with a sufficient amount of "N" which is present in the soil, said branches of "Breakdown" or "decomposition" of such trees. While the decorations are starting to degradation, nitrogen is extracted from the ground and away from their trees and plants. I would say if you use those accessories you buy a bag or two of "blood" from the center of Gardening local food or care for children. It does not contain only nitrogen and phosphorus or potassium. This spray above the mulch, the soil will provide the necessary amount of nitrogen, and replace everything that has been used in the decomposition process. Blood meal is also "organic" and safe for the environment. Another problem with the use of new decorations for tree cutting and vegetation cover is the disease. Not not really know if one of these trees were infected by the fungus and many diseases that attack trees. Many forms of "burning" may be present in the decorations and put them in their beds, which could be the exposure of the landscape for potential problems on the road. Many of these diseases and soil fungi were born in order to create more problems. With all said, If you use cut branches of trees, it is better to have a subscription for one year or if it does not require any microbial or nitrogen fly action on its soil. Hope Does that answer your question. Good luck! ** Billy Ray **
